Rules & Regulations Committees

Rules & Regulations Committees

Do you want to be on our new look rules and regulations committees?

As the sport grows we have decided to refresh and restructure our current adult rules/ regulation/ disciplinary committees.

Instead of one single committee covering all rules/ regulations/ disciplinary issues we will be shifting to having separate committees – one for rules, and one for regulations. We will also have a separate pool of individuals from which we can form panels to review any disciplinary issues. We will be seeking a chair of each of these committees, reporting to our director of rules and disciplinary, Jess Goshawk-Dumbrell, who will shift into a more strategic role.

We are looking for volunteers from all across the community who are interested in being part of defining the British Dodgeball rules, regulations and disciplinary procedures.

Rules Committee

Individuals on this committee will discuss and shape the playing rules for adults and juniors for the 2022/23 season, translating this into clear documentation. They will have big picture awareness throughout of the impact and relationship with logistics, player and club development, and international rulessets. The committee will engage day-to-day through a facebook group but volunteers will also be expected to attend quarterly phone meetings. Support in drafting documentation may be required. We will be looking for a rules committee chair.

Regulations Committee

Individuals on this committee will discuss and shape the regulations surrounding the adult and junior games, translating this into clear documentation. They will have big picture awareness throughout of the impact and relationship with logistics, player and club development, and international rulessets. The committee will engage day-to-day through a facebook group but volunteers will also be expected to attend quarterly phone meetings. Support in drafting documentation may be required. We will be looking for a regulations committee chair.

Disciplinary Pool

We are looking for individuals to form part of our disciplinary pool, a committee that we can draw panels of 3 people from in order to review complaints or other disciplinary issues where these arise. These can range from reviewing matchplay incidents to safeguarding matters. Individuals will be part of a facebook group and will be called upon to join review panels when needed. We will be looking for a disciplinary pool chair.

Individuals can sit on multiple committees.

    Before you buy

Can I learn at my own pace?

Yes! Our courses are set up so you can start, pause and return to your learning at times which are convenient to you. There is no time limit to compete the course in. The only exception to this is the online Level 2 course, which is made up of 2 webinars and lessons to complete before/after certain points, but this is all clearly marked.

Our courses are developed by teaching and coaching professionals from around the world, led by a Physical Education specialist teacher and international dodgeball coach from the UK. The WDBF Coaching Committee endorses the courses we develop to ensure the contents are of high value to dodgeball specialists and generalist sports educators alike.

Any device with access to a browser can access this course in its entirety. No additional software (e.g., word processors) or hardware is needed, unless explicitly stated (such as recording equipment for the online Level 2 course). We recommend using Google Chrome to complete the course, although it should be compatible with all browsers.

    Our courses are aimed at:

    • Anyone wanting to learn more about dodgeball
    • Physical Education teachers
    • Generalist sports coaches
    • Dodgeball coaches
    • Dodgeball players wanting to learn more about another code of the sport

It can be completed by anyone of any age, although it is recommended each learner is aged 13+. Anyone aged under 18 should get permission from a parent or guardian before signing up to online learning on this site.

Please see our refund & cancellation policy on our Policies page for more information.
