We offer a wide range of online and face to face courses to suit everyone, from leadership courses for young people to online introductory teacher training to Level 3 coaching courses suitable for national team coaches. Workshop Information: Introduction to Dodgeball
Our introductory workshop is perfect for those completely new to the sport or those wishing to refresh their knowledge of dodgeball. The 1-3 hour workshop is very much practical-based and is ideal for teachers, club volunteers and workplace staff. This course can also be tailored to your needs, such as bespoke to primary school dodgeball delivery or for a workplace challenge event. This short course covers skills, rules and linking dodgeball into PE lessons.

Children completing the British Dodgeball Junior Leaders Award develop skills in planning, delivering, communication & teamwork. The final outcome for the leaders can align with school priorities, e.g. running a festival for younger classes, supporting a school games event or assisting a coach/teacher to deliver dodgeball sessions.
Any British Dodgeball Level 2 coach can use the Junior Leaders Award Tutor Resource to run this workshops themselves; British Dodgeball certify leaders.
British Dodgeball Dodgeball Leaders Award

Workshop Information: Dodgeball Leaders Award
Our leadership workshop can be delivered to any school or community group aged 11 – 18. Our experienced instructors can tailor the course to the needs of the specific group over 2-3 hours in the school hall to fit desired outcomes such as officiating school games events or leading sessions to peers. Leaders will learn the importance of health & safety, dodgeball rules, basic dodgeball skills, communication and differentiating activities. Leaders will also have a lot of fun playing dodgeball and learning new and inclusive games.

Sport England’s Active Lives Survey ranked dodgeball as the 2nd most highly participated sport in schools (Sport England, 2019). If you want to get dodgeball into your school, then book a dodgeball taster day. British Dodgeball will work with your school to create a tailored day which is sure to engage pupils and get everyone active, including taster sessions introducing the rules, skills workshops and an intra-school competition.
British Dodgeball Performance Masterclass

British Dodgeball master coaches work with your dodgeball team (and coach/teacher) to develop primary & secondary technical skills and tactical understanding in all phases of the game (offensive, defensive & transitions). Your adult leader will gain knowledge through observation and discussion, and come away with 6 high-level session plans to continue to improve the team to the level required to win British Dodgeball county school competitions and other events.

Level 1 Award in Coaching Dodgeball

It is our belief at British Dodgeball that the training we provide will enable coaches and those working with groups to empower people from all different walks of life to be healthy, active and enjoy the full benefits of sport and physical activity. Our Level 1 Award in Coaching Dodgeball not only provides candidates with a knowledge of the sport, but also on how to work with different participants, how to be inclusive and provides an understanding of the importance of a positive well-being and improving self-esteem. This short 4 hour course is available as an online course for individuals, or as a face to face course to groups of 10 (minimum). Participants wishing to book the online Level 1 in addition to a Level 2 open course day can can do so by purchasing this Coach Education Package for the discounted price of £190.
Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball

Prerequisites: Aged 16+, British Dodgeball Level 1 Award in Coaching Dodgeball
Length: 8 hours + 30 minutes pre-course learning

Course Information: Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball
The Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball provides you with the training to be able to coach dodgeball skills and make technical corrections to improve player performance; teach an increasing range of offensive and defensive strategies to improve tactical understanding; understand and apply the dodgeball ruleset to sessions, with the ability to adapt rules to increase the rate of player development; lead safe sessions and understand and apply a range of coaching approaches. This coaching certificate enables participants to deliver dodgeball sessions independently as part of the British Dodgeball minimum deployment requirements. The course is face-to-face only, and run as closed courses where organisations provide 10 participants (minimum) and a venue, or as regular open courses around the UK for individuals or small groups. It can also be booked along with the online Level 1 as part of the Coach Education Package for a discounted rate.
Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball
Participant numbers: 8-18
Prerequisites: Age 18+, British Dodgeball Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball, Access to a session or club to undertake experiential learning
Length: Approx. 50 hours (2 days + 30 hours experiential learning + webinars)

Course Information: Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball
The British Dodgeball Level 3 course is the most advanced dodgeball course in the world, relevant for international team coaches, club head coaches and advanced practitioners of the sport. The course is delivered over 2 days by an experienced British Dodgeball instructor, approximately 6 months apart. Between days 1 and 2, candidates will be required to complete 30 hours of experiential learning. Included in the course are modules on: developing a coaching philosophy, managing teams effectively, incorporating learning theory and knowledge types into practice, advanced tactical application, planning for long-term player development and developing physical conditioning within dodgeball. Candidates will be required to present their learning under assessment in the form of a presentation on Day 2. The British Dodgeball Level 3 course is available for individuals and small groups on our regular open courses.
The Level 1 & Level 2 Coach Education Package has been designed to assist with the efficient and cost-effective training of coaches. Coaches who earn their Level 1 Award in Coaching Dodgeball and Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball will have the knowledge and skills to coach dodgeball independently; the Level 2 forms part of our minimum deployment criteria for dodgeball coaches.
Open Course Offer (Individuals & Small Groups)
Price: £190pp (£20 saving)
Process: Book at the link below or email us. Learners complete the online Level 1 Award in Coaching Dodgeball before attending an open Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball course to gain both coaching certificates.
Closed Course Offer (Groups of 10+)
Price: £140pp
Process: To be eligible for this offer, you must have 10 or more participants and be able to provide a sports venue to host the course. This enables your organisation to choose where, when and how you want your coaches to train, and is done in three steps:
- Inform us that you want to book a Level 1 & Level 2 Package. Contact us at hello@britishdodgeball.com.
- Decide whether you want your participants to undertake the online version or face to face version of the Level 1 Award in Coaching Dodgeball. Both take approximately 5 hours to complete. The online version will be available for participants to complete at a time of their own convenience before their Level 2 date whilst the face to face version is booked on a date in agreement with you.
- Book in your Level 2 date with us. This takes approximately 8 hours to complete.
A British Dodgeball Coaching Course and Workshop Delivery Licence grants organisations and educational institutions the rights to host and deliver British Dodgeball coaching courses and workshops using their own staff who receive training as British Dodgeball tutors.
The delivery licence costs £600 annually, which provides:
- One tutor induction session per year
- The rights to host courses and workshops for members of your own organisation
- The rights to organise and deliver open and closed courses and workshops for individuals and members of other organisations
Education institutions, organisations specialising in education and training and organisations which contain staff members who are experts in sport-specific delivery are best suited for this licence.
