2025/26 English National Leagues Preview

The 2025/26 British Dodgeball National Leagues are just around the corner with Super Leagues and National League 1 kicking of on the 18th of October, this year promises to be one of the most competitive and exciting seasons yet. With league expansions, new teams entering the system, and familiar faces pushing for glory, there’s plenty to look forward to across both the men’s and women’s divisions.

Women’s Super League

The Womens Super League see the arrival of Manchester Queen Bees and Coventry Silverbacks, both promoted after strong campaigns in League 1. They now face the challenge of stepping up against the very best in the country.

All eyes, however, will be on the reigning champions, Bedford Mighty Eagles. Last season, they dominated the Super League with an unbeaten run of 15 wins and 3 draws – establishing themselves in a league of their own. With the Super League expanding to 12 teams, the question is: can the Eagles maintain their dominance, or will fresh competition finally break their unbeaten streak?

The Womens Super League Round 1 Featured match see Bedford Mighty Eagles vs Leamington Spartans 1s at 3:30pm on Court 1.

Women’s League 1

With the Queen Bees and Silverbacks promoted, League 1 is wide open. The division welcomes four new sides:

  • London Saints 2s
  • Leicester White Tigers 2s
  • Altrincham Dodgers
  • London Storm 3s

Last season, the competition was incredibly tight, with just six points separating 3rd and 7th by the end of the year. With the champions and runners-up now gone, this could be one of the most unpredictable seasons yet. The mix of fresh teams and returning challengers means anyone’s league to win.

Men’s Super League

The 2024/25 campaign went down to the wire, with the title decided in the very last fixture. London Storm faced Leamington Spartans in a winner-takes-all showdown, but Storm faltered at the crucial moment. The Spartans seized the opportunity, producing a dominant 23–9 victory to lift the title.

This year sees the arrival of Leamington Spartans 2s and Wessex Wolves, both earning promotion. With Storm eager for redemption and the Spartans looking to cement their reign, expect another season full of twists and high-stakes clashes.

The Round 1 Mens featured match will see Derby Phantoms take on Nottingham Sheriffs on Court 1 at 12:30. Both teams finished on 18 points last season but Phantoms edged out Sheriffs to 4th place on set difference.

Men’s League 1

The league expands with four new sides entering the mix:

  • Nottingham Sheriffs 3s
  • Leamington Spartans 3s
  • London Storm 3s
  • Chippenham Chargers 1s

Last season was a nail-biter, with the top six teams separated by just six points. Promotion was decided on the very last day, with Derby Phantoms 2s missing out by a single point. With new teams joining from both north and south, expect another fiercely contested battle for the top spots.

Men’s Northern League 2

Restructuring sees last season’s North 2 and North 3 merged into one 13-team division. Among the new entries are Altrincham Dodgers 2s and Durham Mighty Knights.

The Altrincham Dodgers 1s were flawless last year in North 3, winning all 18 games, but back-to-back promotions won’t come easy in a much tougher field. They’ll face stiff competition from sides like Manchester Worker Bees, Leicester Mustang 2s, Derby Phantoms 3s, Sheffield Bovines, and Manchester Soldier Bees – all capable of shaking up the promotion race.

Men’s South 2

Wessex Wolves 2s and London Storm 4s moved up into South 2 this season after both ending on 34 points. A third promotion place also opened up after a team dropped out of the national leagues, allowing Chippenham Chargers 2s to also make the move up.

This sets up a fresh-looking South 2, where survival and progression will both be fiercely contested.

Men’s South 3

Change is the theme for South 3 this season. The division welcomes London Saints 3s, Thunderdodge 2s, and Bristol Blood Hounds as new entrants. With last year’s top three promoted, the league has been reshaped dramatically.

This reset gives rise to exciting new matchups and the chance for teams to establish themselves early in a division that feels wide open.
