The Rules and Regulations have been updated to version 1.7 ahead of the 25/26 season. This season marks relatively few changes compared to previous seasons. This was decided as the logical course of action by the Technical Committee, as the WDBF and EDF look to merge their own rulesets over the course of this season and as such it would be unwise to make any major changes until the changes at European and World level are confirmed.
Key changes for the 24/25 season include:
Rules:
- Added procedure for a formal protest.
- Concrete guidance given that players should not cross behind courts whilst matches are in-play, and must wait until a set has been completed or a timeout has been called.
- Contact between players wording updated.
- Clarifies that teams need not play short-handed in subsequent matches when a yellow/red card sanction must still be fulfilled.
Regulations:
- U17 age group changed to U18.
- Info on possible different league structures added.
- Post-match sanctions determined by the technical committee for yellow and red card offences may be longer than a normal yellow card or red card offence, but the team need not play short-handed during this time.
- Info on where unfulfilled sanctions should generally be served added.
- Procedure for scoreline appeals added.
