British Championship 2024 Preview

The highly anticipated British Dodgeball Championships 2024 are set to take place on the 6th of July at the David Ross Sports Village, University of Nottingham. This year’s event promises an exhilarating day of top-tier dodgeball action as the finest men’s, women’s and junior teams from across the UK and Northern Ireland compete for national glory.

Men’s Championships

Group A

Group A features Lutterworth Meteors, returning champions and current Men’s Super League 23/24 Winners, who will face fierce competition from the Northern Irish Ballyhackamore Barbarians, who are coming in strong, after claiming the Mixed British Championships on the 1st of June. The Rhondda Dragons enter Group A as the highest-ranked Welsh team, while London Storm round out the group.

Group B

Entering Group B sees the 2023/24 Northern Irish Super League Champions Kapow, looking to continue their strong form on the other side of the Irish Sea. They will be challenged by the Leamington Spartans, the English Super League Runners Up 23/24, who are determined to claim the top spot. The Manchester Bees will add their “buzz-worthy” reputation, while the Derby Phantoms, complete this fiercely competitive group.

Women’s Championships

Group A

Group A is highlighted by the Derby Phantoms 1s, the 2023/24 English Women’s Super League Winners, who will be looking to add The British Championship Title to their collection, against strong contenders. The Leamington Spartans bring their consistent performance record, while the Coventry Silverbacks and The Leicester White Tigers complete the group.

Group B presents a formidable lineup with the Bedford Eagles, the returning 2023 British Champions, leading the charge. They will face tough opposition from the Ballyhackamore Barbarians, Northern Ireland Super League winners, fresh off their Mixed British Championships victory. The London Storm, a powerhouse team and the Derby Phantoms 2s, showcasing the depth and talent of the Derby squad, round out this competitive group.

As well as the Men’s and Women’s Championships, The Junior British Champions will be happening at the same time. This will see the best Under 11s, 13s, 15s and 17s teams in the country seeking their respective national title.

The British Championship event will bring together these elite teams and the respective teams in the Under 11s, 13s, 15s and 17s competitions, all aiming to outplay and outlast their rivals to claim the coveted National Title. Fans can expect high-octane matches, incredible athleticism, and the best of British Dodgeball action throughout the entire day.
