Dodgeball in the City
British Dodgeball have been managing a project funded by Sport England to develop the start up of 6 new dodgeball clubs in London and Birmingham over the last 12 months. We are very excited and pleased to share the details of these clubs and the great success achieved. In this article we shall highlight Birmingham Renegade Dodgeball Club and a cluster of clubs in North London called The Dodgeball Club.
Starting in Birmingham we have seen the start up of a brand new Adult and Junior club led by Brian, Gemma and Claire at Waseley Hills High School. The club has received support with new equipment, hall hire, marketing and coach education supplied to deliver dodgeball in a brand new area of the country. Over the last few months the club has seen a meteoric rise in members and are now offering twice weekly sessions – Thursday evenings 8-10pm for Adults and Sundays 3-4pm for Juniors and Adults. They are always open to new members as well, to find out more email Revolutiondodgeball@outlook.com
The Dodgeball Club have partnered with British Dodgeball on this project to deliver even more dodgeball across the North London area to great success. James and the team of coaches run 6 hours of dodgeball classes per week in a range of locations with classes for children aged 7 through to 13. The Dodgeball in the City project has supported The Dodgeball Club to be able to expand their classes and keep children playing dodgeball up to age 13. Coach James has ambitions to get their groups competing with other clubs in the area, if you are interested in a friendly match or tournament get in touch by email Admin@TheDodgeballClub.co.uk
