If so, read on — British Dodgeball is seeking enthusiastic and forward-thinking individuals to join our Board as Participants’ Representatives.
British Dodgeball recognises that participants play a vital role in shaping the future of the sport. Since our inception in 2017, player representation has been central to our governance, and we are committed to strengthening that voice as we continue to grow. We are now looking to appoint Participants’ Representatives for England and Northern Ireland to help ensure that participant perspectives remain at the heart of our decision-making.
About the Role
The role of Participants’ Representative is a voluntary Board Director position, with all reasonable travel and subsistence expenses fully reimbursed. Representatives will act as a key link between participants and the Board, helping to inform strategy, policy, and long-term development of dodgeball across the UK.

- Participants’ Representative – England
- Participants’ Representative – Northern Ireland
Time commitment:
Typically 4–6 Board meetings per year, plus approximately 1–2 flexible days per month.

3 years (maximum of 2 terms)

Main Role Purpose & Duties
- Represent the voice of players and participants within your home nation at Board level
- Develop and engage a regional sub-group to gather a broad range of participant viewpoints
- Actively contribute as a Board Director, applying independent judgement and critical thinking
- Support British Dodgeball in achieving its strategic and organisational objectives
- Promote the long-term success and sustainability of dodgeball across the UK
- Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion across participation, volunteering, staffing, and governance
- Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and professionalism at all times
General Board Director Responsibilities
- Share collective responsibility for the strategic oversight and governance of British Dodgeball
- Fulfil the legal duties of a Company Director in line with the Companies Act (2006)
- Hold the CEO and Executive team accountable for performance against agreed objectives
- Safeguard the interests of members and stakeholders
- Contribute to risk management and financial sustainability
- Act with discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information
- Serve as an ambassador for British Dodgeball
- Participate in relevant Board sub-committees or working groups as required
