Team GB

The last few months have been a big one for British Dodgeball and Team GB. The Men’s competed in the Dodgeball World Championship in Cancun, finishing in the top 8 in a major milestone for GB dodgeball.

As new members of the WDBF, British Dodgeball was keen to send our team over to Cancun to compete in the World Championships and represent us as a nation. Particularly as the 9th World Championships will take place in Glasgow and run by British Dodgeball and our community. This will be the first time in the history of dodgeball that both cloth and foam dodgeball will be played at the same World Championship event. 48 of the top-ranked teams will be battling it out at the competition, including World Champions USA, Austria and the Great Britain Dodgeball Team.

It was so important to show ambition and to be a key part of our new World Governing Body and as an organisation, British Dodgeball did everything to support the guys to get over to Mexico. From the start Team GB knew it would be a massive challenge for the squad to compete against much more experienced foam playing nations. But they held their own and put in a great performance, doing us proud as they represented their country. These are just some of the thoughts of the athletes representing Britain throughout their time in Cancun;

Jonny Day

Representing GB at the WDBF World Championships was an eye opening experience. The level of competition and sportsmanship was without equal. It was like discovering dodgeball for the first time again, and I loved every minute of it.

Henry Skinner

The World Championships were everything I wanted it to be. It was an amazing experience playing against the world’s best dodgeball players but also to show the world what GB has to offer. A huge thank you to every single person who supported us along the journey!

Kerby Ng

We’ve definitely faced the best and we’ve gained so much from it. We came in strong for our debut and next year is the fight for the medals.

We are proud of all of them and what they have achieved, heres to 2020 and what Team GB will achieve next.
